The deliverable of our work would always be a Power BI file which either we create or a customer creates with us during training. Development services would include creation of new Power BI reports, adding functionality to the current Power BI reports, reporting automation and improving the visual interface of the current Power BI reports.
Our experienced UK Power BI consultants used for completing the most technically challenging parts of the project such as creating a data model, DAX formulas and creating an engaging visual interface of the dashboard. Once the most technical part of the project is complete, an organisation can gradually train internal employees to maintain the files and add new functionality to them.
It depends on the engagement. At the very least development of a one-page Power BI dashboard would take around 1 week. At the very most if you want to create a series of Power BI reports, a project could take up to 3 months.
The cost of your Power BI development project depends on several factors including the number of data sources, whether you want your reports to be fully automated and the analysis that you need to produce. At the very least you would spend around £750 with us if the data is readily available and the analysis is quite routine. The biggest projects we have done were around £50,000 for year-long development.
Definitely yes! Our UK Power BI consultancy can help you utilise the native Power BI connectors to extract data automatically from your data sources. If there is no native connector for the data source that you use, we can always build a custom Power BI connector for you. A quick and simple alternative to this is manually extracting the data to Excel before linking it to Power BI. This approach leads to some manual maintenance work in the future but it is quick to set up.
At the very least as a Power BI consultancy we would always sign an NDA with our clients. If you want to take data security even further, you can always involve your internal IT specialists or external IT consultants to arrange access to your data. We have seen some of our clients creating virtual machines with certain permissions to organise a work environment for us. These permissions could allow us to read the data but not export it or send any emails. As a result, the client is more in control of how we can use the data. Other clients choose to anonimise the data before providing it to us, removing columns like email address, phone number, etc. Removing personal-identifiable information leads to GDPR compliance.
